Independence is the most precious thing, DPRK’s newspaper says

Pyongyang, Sep 19 (Prensa Latina) Independence is the only way to ensure the dignity of the nation and achieve prosperity, Rodong Sinmun, the official newspaper of the Workers' Party of Korea, said on Tuesday.

According to editorial, in many years of confrontation with the United States, the Korean people have advanced along the path of development, because they know no hesitation and appreciate independence as life itself.

In its 75 years of life, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) has given convincing proof that it will not yield to any pressures and will persist on this path, convinced that it is the only one conducive way to peace and development, Rodong Sinmun added.

The newspaper noted that preparing for defense is the only way to defend independence and realize the dreams and ideals of the Korean people.

Seventy-five years ago, in August 1948, the DPRK elected the Supreme People’s Assembly and a new Constitution was promulgated on September 3.

Six days later, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea was proclaimed with Kim Il Sung as prime minister.
