Dominican solidarity campaign with Cuba condemns terrorist act

Santo Domingo, Sep 26 (Prensa Latina) The Dominican Solidarity Campaign with Cuba today joined the many voices that, from countries on all continents, repudiate the terrorist attack against the embassy of that Caribbean nation in Washington, United States.

After pointing out that on Sunday night an individual threw two Molotov cocktails over the perimeter fence of the diplomatic headquarters of that Caribbean nation, friends of Cuba expressed their hope that the judicial authorities of the northern country will investigate the incident.

In the statement to which Prensa Latina had access, they stated that this act not only violates the principles of international law, but also endangers the lives of the diplomats and the American citizens themselves or other nationalities who could be in the legation. for procedural reasons.

The Campaign pointed out that Cuba is a brother country that has never attacked any State, at the same time that it proposed to the progressive governments of Latin America and the world to resume the idea of the Bolivarian leader Hugo Chávez (1954-2013) of preparing with honesty and consensus a list of the true promoters of terrorism.

He recalled that this is the second time in three years that the Cuban embassy in Washington has been the target of a violent attack. In April 2020, an individual of Cuban origin, who is still awaiting trial, fired 30 rounds at the facility in a burst, causing considerable material damage.

A statement from the Cuban Foreign Ministry indicated the day before that at the request of the diplomatic mission, officers from the United States Secret Service appeared at the headquarters and had access to its facilities to verify the violent action perpetrated.
