A statement distributed in this capital on Tuesday added that Habanos, S.A., hand in hand with its exclusive distributor for Curaçao, the Caribbean and Central America, Caribbean Cigars Corporation N.V., presented a new vitola of the renowned Vegueros brand, named Centro Gordos, in the city of Willemstad.

The press release added that the third edition of the Caribbean Habanos Day was held at the Kontiki Hotel in that country during a memorable weekend that was full of events.

More than 150 participants, including representatives of regional franchises, retailers and cigar aficionados from some 10 countries in Central America and the Caribbean, tried this new vitola in a world premiere.

In addition to tasting the Vegueros Centro Gordos and Bolívar Gold Medal vitolas paired with exclusive rums, they also enjoyed competitions, exclusive presentations, a humidor auction, all this accompanied by Cuba’s best music.

Those present participated in lectures, Vegueros pairings with the best rums of the Caribbean, and a tour of the coasts of Curaçao.

The events continued the next day, when guests participated in the Longest Ash Contest, at which Don Bakhuis, from Curaçao, was the winner, and enjoyed a smoke and pairing with the Bolivar Gold Medal vitola and Varadero 15-year-old rum.

The event closed with The Great Night, accompanied by dinner and Cuban music, during which participants witnessed the auction of the Vegueros Humidor with 216 Havana cigars, which raised 20,000 dollars that will be donated to the Cuban Public Health System.

Vegueros Centro Gordos is a product distributed at Cuba’s Casas del Habano around the world, the company explained. This new thick-caliber vitola seeks to renew the Vegueros brand with an innovative format.
