Local television reported that the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy pointed out that representatives of Israel and Palestine are invited to join a meeting of EU foreign ministers on Tuesday.

On Octuber 7, the Hamas resistance movement, based in the Gaza Strip, launched an offensive against areas surrounding that region in the West Bank, under Israeli occupation for 75 years, to which Tel Aviv responded with massive bombings on Gaza.

More than 1,300 people have been killed in the conflict, which has escalated after statements like those by the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who announced an operation in the Gaza Strip, which has a population of nearly three million inhabitants, and it is subjected to a total blockade by Tel Aviv, local media reported.

On Monday, the EU announced the suspension of development projects with the Palestinian National Authority that are worth some 691 million dollars in order to stop one of few ways for the population in the Gaza Strip to get funds.
