The move follows the escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict after the surprise large-scale incursion of the Islamic Resistance Movement (HAMAS) into Israel early Saturday morning.
The US Federal Aviation Administration issued advisories regarding the situation in the region and, on Saturday, United Airlines, Delta Air Lines and American Airlines suspended direct flights, normally operated from major cities such as New York, Chicago, Washington DC and Miami.
On the morning of October 7, Hamas fired numerous rockets into Israel and subsequently dozens of its militiamen crossed the guarded Gaza Strip border into Israel.
