President Díaz-Canel underscores transformative work of human beings

Canel-HOGAR
Matanzas, Cuba, Nov 10 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel emphasized on Friday, during a working visit to the Cuban province of Matanzas, the importance of the transformative work of human beings to overcome obstacles.

At the beginning of the tour of Matanzas, established in Vaquería 91, in the community of Triunvirato, in the municipality of Limonar, the head of State learned about the progress of the unit attached to the Genetic Livestock Company of Matanzas and led by the young farmer Andy Guerrero.

Guerrero, a 21-year-old young man who in less than 10 months has been working at the dairy with a cowboy, explained to Díaz-Canel that he has 81 animals, 22 of which are pregnant heifers, 42 are cows and he produces eight liters of milk per head of cattle, so he will fulfill its annual plan of 16,300 liters of milk.

When taking over the unit, in February of the current year, the milk yield per animal was barely three liters and currently we achieved self-sufficiency, there are no thefts of cattle or deaths at birth, said the farmer.

The president praised the actions of Andy and other farmers present at the site and asserted that these examples need to become the rule and not exceptions because magic formulas do not exist, reality is transformed with the dedication of human beings.

We must grow, look for alternatives despite the intensification of the US blockade, which limits us greatly, but we cannot sit idly by and achieve efficiencies in the proper management of technologies, innovation and maintaining differentiated attention to man, he asserted.

Díaz-Canel claimed that the Revolution will remain firm in order to maintain social achievements and to achieve this the role of the economy is essential since we must produce more with the aim of creating wealth that equitably achieves a better quality of life for the people.

The day’s tour of the province, the president also visited social works of importance to Matanzas such as the children’s home in the Triunvirato community, the Sonrisas de Camilo day care center, the construction works on the banks of the San Juan River and the Maternal Home of the provincial capital.

During the tour, the First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba exchanged with the people and learned about instruction in each installation in a day that served to evaluate in Matanzas to fulfill the economic, social, political and ideological strategies in Cuba’s western province.
