“An attempt by Ukrainian terrorists to commit an attack with UAVs was foiled. The Russian defense acted immediately and destroyed the four drones flying over the Starodubski district,” Bogomaz posted on Telegram.
Bogomaz added there were no casualties or material damage, and emergency services were are on the scene.
Earlier, the Defense Ministry reported that anti-aircraft means neutralized two Ukrainian drones in the skies flying over the Russian province of Smolensk, bordering Ukraine, as well as the Moscow region.
Smolensk Governor Vasily Anokhin stated that the downed drone in his region left no casualties and “operational services were involved at the crash site to ensure safety”.
Russian provinces bordering Ukraine, such as Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk and Voronezh, regularly report shell hits, drone raids and other attacks from across the border, forcing the population to seek shelter.
