The Joint Committee on the issue is working effectively and smoothly and there is stronger cooperation in infrastructure construction as well as in improving transport connectivity in border areas, Minh Vu and Weidong said during talks held the day before in this capital.

In particular, the deputy foreign ministers highlighted the effective pilot operation of the Ban Gioc – Detian waterfalls, which proves the two sides’ determination to create a safe and attractive tourist destination for the sake of socio-economic development in the border areas.

The two sides expressed their satisfaction with the sound development of the comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership between the two countries and pledged to continue to work closely on border management and protection in accordance with three legal documents on the subject and relevant agreements.

In this regard, they pledged to effectively collaborate in opening, improving and recognizing border gates and implementing measures to facilitate customs clearance, cultural and trade exchanges in these areas.
