Egypt warns Israel against forced displacement of Palestinians

Cairo, Nov 21 (Prensa Latina) Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly warned Israel on Tuesday that the displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip is a threat against his country, and assured that this strategy will face a decisive response.

From the beginning of the escalation of violence we realized that the goal is to push the Palestinians to Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, he stressed at the House of Representatives.

The massive airstrike plan, executed by Israel against that territory, sought to turn the Strip into a “human bomb” that can explode in Egypt, he pointed out.

“Egypt totally and absolutely rejects the displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to Egyptian territory, condemns any and all measures by Israel to force the Palestinians to do so, and considers it a threat to Egyptian territory and sovereignty,” the prime minister noted.

Madbouly added that the Egyptian people also expressed their total and categorical rejection of such forced displacement due to the negative repercussions on Egyptian and Arab national security, and because it represents the complete liquidation of the Palestinian cause and even the extension of the circle of war to other countries.

The head of Government mentioned Egypt’s historic actions in support of the Palestinian people and the measures taken at the political, diplomatic and social levels following the new aggression against the Gaza Strip.

Egypt has never abandoned and will never abandon the Palestinian cause, he said, adding that only the two-State solution will end the conflict that began more than 75 years ago.
