Hygienic and safe tourism facilities increase in Cuba

Matanzas, Cuba, Nov 24 (Prensa Latina) The facilities with the Most Hygienic and Safe Tourism (T+HS) certification in the spa city of Varadero increased to 614, a figure that denotes the work in the main sun and beach destination of the country.

According to the latest evaluation carried out by experts from the Ministries of Tourism and Public Health with the aim of preserving the health and safety of clients and workers in the sector, the centers with T+HS reached that figure and work is being done to achieve that all rental houses in the province implement the More Hygienic and Safe Tourism program.

According to the site www.radio26.cu, the T+HS program was developed between both ministries and is based on compliance with parameters established by Public Health, as well as on the recommendations of global Tourism and Health organization, the operators established in the country and the Tour Operators of the main issuing countries.

The delegate of the Ministry of Tourism in Matanzas, Nastia Valdés, praised the growth of centers that have received this type of category, which makes it possible to provide conditions with a safe and quality service in tourist accommodations.

Turning the Greater Antilles into a viable destination in terms of health and well-being, two values that attract foreign visitors to this island, represents an objective at the country level that throughout the province is carried out by the personnel of the sector with their performance, added Valdés.

The site points out that among the aspects to be evaluated in the T+HS program are risk assessment, review and adaptation of the hygiene and disinfection protocols of the facilities, increasing control and prevention measures for personnel, extreme compliance with procedures to guarantee food safety and the appropriate adaptation of spaces and mobility.
