Cuba celebrates International Day of Solidarity with Palestine

Havana, Nov 29 (Prensa Latina) The dream of every Palestinian is to have an independent state and the return of refugees, the Palestinian ambassador to Cuba Akram Samhan said on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with this Arab nation.

“Current situation in Palestine is tense, there is a cease-fire and therefore the date acquires a special connotation,” he said exclusively to Prensa Latina and thanked the solidarity of the Cuban people with all Palestinians, not only in Gaza.

Cuba celebrated the International Day of Solidarity with Palestine, implemented by the United Nations in 1977, with a political-cultural event at the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM), located in the western province of Artemisa.

The event was headed by Deputy Prime Minister Jorge Luis Perdomo, the member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Jorge Luis Broche; among other representatives of political and mass organizations in the capital and the rectorate of the institution.
