Cuba and Bahamas celebrate 49 years of diplomatic relations

Havana, Nov 30 (Prensa Latina) Cuba reiterated its willingness to continue expanding the ties of friendship with the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, on the 49th anniversary of diplomatic relations on Thursday, the Cuban Foreign Ministry noted.

Both countries collaborate in areas such as health care, transportation, tourism, migration and adaptation to climate change, in addition to defending common positions at several international forums.

Bahamian Prime Minister Philip Davis paid an official visit to Cuba in late 2022 and was received by President Miguel Díaz-Canel at the Havana’s Palace of the Revolution.

During the meeting, the two leaders discussed the potential to diversify collaborative relationships in areas of mutual interest and continue deepening the ties of friendship.

That was Davis’s first visit to Cuba as Bahamian prime minister, a post he assumed in September 2021.
