Cuba and Cambodia for greater cooperation in the information sector

Phnom Penh, Dec 5 (Prensa Latina) Cuba and Cambodia called today for strengthening collaboration in the information sector in a context of dizzying evolution of social networks and supremacy of large transnational information companies.

That purpose was expressed in a meeting between the Minister of Information, Neth Pheaktra, and the ambassador of the island here, Liurka Rodriguez, who thanked the frequent and objective media coverage on the reality of the Caribbean country.

During the meeting, the diplomat highlighted the treatment in the media of Cambodia’s invariable position in support of the demand for the end of the blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba, as well as the evolution of bilateral relations.

The Minister expressed his gratitude for the results of the collaboration agreement between the AKP News Agency and Prensa Latina signed in 2022, which has led to greater rapprochement between Havana and Phnom Penh.

The head of information commented that the positive view of Cuba in the public opinion is due to the historical solidarity of the Greater of the Antilles with its people in the most difficult moments.

He added that the permanent will of the respective authorities to inculcate values of friendship and cooperation in the new generations is also present.
