India stresses the need to democratize technology

New Delhi, Dec 5 (Prensa Latina) The Indian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Subrahmanyan Jaishankar, emphsized on the need to regulate technology and make its use more democratic and responsible to avoid the consequences of monopolization of its use.

Inaugurating the Global Technology Summit (GTS) 2023, the minister highlighted the decisiveness of technological development in today’s age and its increasing interpenetrating capacity in all sectors, including from the individual point of view.

Through all the conceptual barriers that we all have in our minds, of privacy, community, nation-state, technology today has demonstrated its ability to overcome all of that, he said.

He highlighted the impact of the development achieved by his country in this sector, with the accomplishment of a very defined economy, largely focused on trade and investment.

Jaishankar noted that the Narendra Modi government, near the end of his second term, focused on the centrality of technology in addressing public policy, an approach to governance and national security.
