After days of dialogue in the southern province of Guangdong devoted to collaboration, consensus, journalistic ethics and the challenges of the sector, other delegates met in the city of Kunming, Yunnan province, to continue the debates.

At the opening ceremony, participants emphasized on the responsibilities of the media in promoting exchange and mutual learning among civilizations, as well as in the modernization of human society.

A document entitled “Kunming Initiative for the 5th World Media Summit” was adopted during the ceremony and a thematic event on Kunming culture was launched.

As part of the agenda, the representatives will also participate in the second Yunnan International Communication Forum until December 8.

More than 450 delegates from 200 institutions endorsed in Guangdong the declaration of the 5th World Media Summit in favor of consensus, cooperation and journalistic ethics.
