Through seismic and infrasound monitoring equipment, the Observatory confirmed the existence of the eruptive event; small eruptions of four pulses lasting for 14 minutes were recorded, not visibly observed due to darkness.

Between August and December, the volcano reported several eruptions that were preceded by indicators warning of the possibility of an increase in the massif’s activity, OVSICORI recalls.

The volcanic tremor (internal seisms) remains at medium intensity, which warns of the possibility of similar events in the coming days.
