Maduro thanked his Guyanese counterpart for his disposition to talk

Caracas, Dec 15 (Prensa Latina) The President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, thanked his Guyanese counterpart, Irfaan Alí, for his frankness and willingness to broad dialogue on all the issues addressed the day before in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

In his X account, the head of State expressed his satisfaction of “having been face to face as he had wanted for a long time” with his Guyanese counterpart to settle the issue of the Essequiba Guyana dispute.

It was worthwhile to raise the flag of truth, to raise our historical reasons and to seek with the Bolivarian Diplomacy of Peace the path of dialogue and understanding to channel this historical controversy, he stressed.

Maduro thanked the Prime Ministers and Presidents of CELAC and CARICOM who were present at the bilateral dialogue meeting between Guyana and Venezuela.

“We have taken a great historic step to return to the path of legality, dialogue and peace. That is our path!” he remarked.

Maduro and Ali held a meeting yesterday in the capital of San Vicente, promoted by the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and the Community of Caribbean States (CARICOM), in addition to the President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and the UN Secretary General, António Guterres.
