An official note from the military institution, released the day before, recalls that the formalization of the settlement in the Military Registry is a sign of the willingness of those summoned to prepare for the defense of the homeland.

According to the provisions of Decree-Law 224 of the SMA, the young people born in 2008 must register in the said registry between January and March 2024.

The dispatch explains that this procedure takes place in the Attention Areas of the provincial and municipal military committees, corresponding to summoned’s residence or others available on the established days and hours.

Each young person will present his or her identification document (identity card or minor’s card) and will receive the registration voucher as proof of registration, adds the Minfar note.

Decree-Law 224 regulates the organization of the SMA and the Military Reserve that Cuban citizens must provide and the rules for its fulfillment for two years in the units and dependencies of the Revolutionary Armed Forces or the Ministry of the Interior.
