Bolivia in solidarity with Ecuador, asks to regionalize war on drugs

La Paz, Jan 10 (Prensa Latina) The president of Bolivia, Luis Arce, deplored in his social networks the acts of violence occurred on Tuesday in Ecuador and urged to regionalize the battle against drug trafficking and organized crime.

“From the Plurinational State of Bolivia we repudiate the acts of violence that occurred in the last hours in the sister Republic of Ecuador. We express our full solidarity to the Ecuadorian people and government that is going through a critical situation of security and fight against crime,” Arce wrote in his X account.

The president also expressed “its predisposition to support the return of tranquility to the streets of Ecuador”.

The day before, a wave of violence that included the blowing up and burning of cars, kidnapping of policemen and even the takeover by hooded men of the TC television channel in Guayaquil was observed by the Bolivian television audience when a news program was being broadcasted,

Following this wave of violence, Ecuador’s president, Daniel Noboa, signed a decree declaring the existence of an internal armed conflict in the country, designated some 20 criminal gangs as “terrorist” groups and ordered the Armed Forces to reestablish order.
