China urges to expand relations with DR Congo

Beijing, Jan 10 (Prensa Latina) China congratulated Felix Tshisekedi on Wednesday on his re-election as President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and advocated for deepening exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.

Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Mao Ning said, “We believe that under President Tshisekedi’s leadership, the DR Congo will make more achievements on the path of national development and rejuvenation.”

According to Mao, the two nations are comprehensive strategic partners, and Beijing attaches great importance to boost bilateral relations.

“We are willing to work with DR Congo to continue the traditional friendship, deepen exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in the framework of the Belt and Road cooperation and the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), to better benefit the two peoples,” the spokeswoman stressed.
