Four U.S. airlines call off flights to Ecuador

Washington, Jan 10 (Prensa Latina) Four U.S. airlines canceled their flights to Ecuador as a result of security and violence crisis the South American nation is presently experiencing.

American Airlines, JetBlue, Spirit and United Airlines have announced such a decision. President Daniel Noboa, who has only been in office for two months, decreed a state of emergency due to an “internal armed conflict” and identified more than 20 organized crime groups as terrorists.

U.S. TV stations have been broadcasting Ecuador´s situation and published on Tuesday the right time in which an armed group attacked a TV channel broadcasting live from Guayaquil.

According to press reports, at least eight people were killed and two others were injured amid several gun attacks in various parts of the Ecuadorian coastal city.
