The arrest happened on Sunday night after months of investigations not only for his links to the Colombian armed group, but also for allegedly being linked to terrorist activities in the Ecuadorian province of Esmeraldas.
In statements to local press, Police Commander Gen. César Zapata assured that El Gringo will be extradite to Colombia as he had an Interpol´s blue alert notice.
In Ecuador, the name of the Oliver Sinisterra armed group became popular following the assassination in 2018 of three members of the journalistic team of El Comercio newspaper.
