The forum’s attendees toured the exhibition halls of the facility, unique in the country, which collects and disseminates the life, work and thought of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution.

Participants shared with the specialists anecdotes of their professional life related to Fidel Castro, described as one of the great protagonists of the history and politics of the 20th century.

The theoretical meeting had lasted From January 21st through January 22nd, in which over 70 professionals addressed issues related to the new international order of information, news on the Internet and news agencies in times of hypermedia.

The event celebrated the 65th anniversary of the conferences convened in 1959 by the historic leader of the Revolution Fidel Castro to disseminate the reality of the nascent process of transformations in Cuba, in the face of the discrediting campaigns unleashed after the revolutionary triumph of January 1st, 1959.

The head of the Latin American News Agency Prensa Latina Luis Enrique Gonzalez deemed that the conference marked the continuity of the alternative media’s battle for the truth.

Gonzalez acknowledged the participation in the meeting of Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel, who stressed the need to keep Operation Truth active to defend and show the reality of progressive nations.

Prensa Latina’s president further expressed the commitment of the news agency, the meeting’s organizer, to coordinate and promote media initiatives to disclose the realities of the oppressed peoples, as he thanked the support of the pan-Arab media Al Mayadeen in the organization of the forum.
