Argentine Movement calls to strengthen solidarity with Cuba

Bilbao, Spain, Jan 28 (Prensa Latina) The president of the Argentine Movement of Solidarity with Cuba (MasCuba), Alberto Mas, called to strengthen international actions in support of the Caribbean nation at a meeting that will conclude in Bilbao, Spain, on Sunday.

Mas, who is the secretary of the Argentine Club of Journalists Friends of Cuba, attended the 2nd meeting of the Europe-Cuba Forum, at which he presented the initiatives developed by both organizations in Argentina.

As part of his presentation, Mas explained that MasCuba is represented across Argentina by over 40 Friendship Houses and is made up of organizations such as the two Workers’ Centers, the Communist Party, the Socialist Party and the Evita Movement, among others.

Defending Cuba from US aggression is to support the construction of a better world which, as Commander Fidel Castro (1926-2016) said, is possible, said Mas, who also demanded the end of Washington’s blockade for over six decades, as well as Cuba’s exclusion of Cuba from the State Sponsors of Terrorism (SSOT) list.

So much cruelty against the Revolution is being pursued because Cuba shows us every day another way of doing politics, of leading a country, that it is feasible to implement an economic and social system with the human being at the center, he added.

Mas noted that supporting that nation “is to keep the empire at bay and prevent it from achieving its known manifest destiny: that of occupying what it considers its backyard and seizing all the natural resources of our continent.”

Supporting Cuba is to defend the very existence of humanity. We must act with concrete measures and multiply the actions we have been taking since the very beginning of the Revolution, he stressed.

Mas pointed out that solidarity can break the blockade and as an example, he mentioned the shipment of millions of syringes and needles to Cuba for the vaccination campaign against Covid-19.

The unity proclaimed by Jose Marti (1853-1895) and promoted by Fidel Castro in all areas of the revolutionary process is Cuba’s great cultural triumph and the big defeat of the empire, which cannot end the example of that nation of only 11 million inhabitants, he stressed.

Mas urged to strengthen the fight against disinformation and defamation campaigns from all possible spaces.

Let’s raise our voice to the world, stop blocking Cuba, remove it from the infamous State Sponsors of Terrorism list. Long live international solidarity! Let it be clear, for us, Homeland or Death is not a slogan, it is a reality, Mas concluded.
