Amlo: Right wing hacked journalists of La Mañanera

Mexico City, Jan 29 (Prensa Latina) The President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, denounced that the right wing hacked the accounts of journalists of La Mañanera, the same of Guacamaya Leaks, possibly at the request of opposition businessman Claudio X González. He is considered by the President as the head of the Mexican political opposition and includes the National Action, Institutional Revolutionary and Democratic Revolution parties and who imposed on them as presidential candidate the businesswoman Xóchitl Gálvez.

In his morning press conference, the President was asked about the hacking of 300 journalists on the guest list of his morning press conferences, and one of his sons, and he said without hesitation that it was the right wing and even mentioned Claudio X as a possible intellectual author.

With my children the same, he said, a set-up. A friend of mine has a business and speaks on the phone in the name of one of my sons to get a contact. My son has nothing to do with it, there is no proof, that is why I do not trust them, it is a recording, a fragment, they tapped a call, he denounced.

He announced that the matter is being investigated and probably during the course of this day some information will be offered, reiterating that it was the right wing and not his government and the Morena party do not do that because they are not “fachos” (fascists) like them.

In addition, he revealed, a report will be submitted to the National Institute of Transparency, Access to Information and Protection of Personal Data on what happened, because this entity requested it from the Presidency of the Republic. It is a dirty war, it is espionage. We are going to make an investigation, he assured.

He repeated that it is very likely that the entire Claudio X González network was the executor of the hacking, and we have to face all kinds of attacks. If we did not have moral authority, we would have been destroyed. We would never censor a journalist, we would never be spying on anyone. We do respond and exercise the right of reply. The people trust us. We must be calm, we are going to go through these four strong months. We are going to continue possibly hearing this kind of news”.
