Ecuadorian President in league with U.S. opposing Venezuelan election

Daniel-Noboa-7-768x433
Quito, Jan 30 (Prensa Latina) Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa on Tuesday claimed he will not recognize the result of the upcoming elections in Venezuela, a position aligned with the United States.

“At this moment it is not that we do not recognize Nicolás Maduro´s government, expressed Noboa in an interview with Ecuavisa channel in which he cleared up his stance concerning the upcoming presidential elections in Venezuela.

In this regard, the Venezuelan Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) informed last week the decisions made on a group of opposition politicians who went to that body, prior agreement between the parties, for the reviews of their disqualifications imposed by the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic.

The TSJ´s sentences enabled five persons and other two were invalidated for 15 years to exercise public functions: María Corina Machado and Henrique Capriles.

President Noboa pointed out he disagree “at all” with the current electoral process in Venezuela, because he considers that it is not “free” and in this regard he stated: “We will not recognize the result of next elections”.

The first Vice-President of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, Diosdado Cabello, ruled out that the government will capitulate and reproached the position assumed by regional nations regarding the opposition Machado.

On Tuesday, the Ecuadorian Foreign Ministry released on its social networks a joint statement with Costa Rica, Dominican Republic and Paraguay calling for “free elections”, “without exclusion of opposition candidates”.

Cabello called on those States to solve their own domestic problems and not to meddle into Venezuela’s internal affairs.

Likewise, the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry indicated that Washington is presently seeking to impose a coup with “coercion and threats”, disregard the institutions of the Republic, apply new coercive measures and to destabilize the Venezuelan economy and people´s welfare.
