Afghanistan rejects UN Security Council report

Kabul, Feb 2 (Prensa Latina) The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban Government) rejected on Friday the United Nations (UN) Security Council's reports on the presence of the extremist organization Al Qaeda in the country.

The UN has created a regular program of defamation against the Islamic Emirate and has always spread propaganda against us. Counter-terrorism is the basic principle of the interim government, and there is no al-Qaeda base in Afghanistan, Taliban Spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid assured.

The comments follow the release of a UN Security Council report that affirms that al-Qaeda has established up to eight new training camps in Afghanistan, including four in Ghazni, Laghman, Parwan, and Uruzgan provinces, with a new base to stockpile weaponry in the Panjshir Valley.

This terrorist group continues to pose the greatest threat inside Afghanistan to project into the region and beyond.

In general, al-Qaeda’s targeting patterns are first against Shiite Muslims, then the Taliban, and finally civilians, the document states.
