Increase in air travelers predicted in Trinidad and Tobago

Port of Spain, February 9 (Prensa Latina) Trinidad and Tobago authorities today predicted an increase in visitors as Panama's Copa Airlines increases services to the country starting June 5.

According to Tourism Minister Randall Mitchell, the airline will increase flights to and from Port of Spain from seven to 10 times a week, significantly improving accessibility for travelers.

He further explained to the local press that over the past six months his portfolio together with renowned agency Tourism Trinidad Ltd. has been increasing its marketing reach and putting action plans in place to increase arrivals.

Regarding strategic efforts, the Caribbean government has been actively cultivating alliances with Copa Airlines and other airlines that provide services in the Latin American region, which will allow access to new markets and drive demand for flights to the destination, positioning Trinidad and Tobago as an attractive tourist center.

The news comes as Trinidad and Tobago welcomed regional and international visitors to the destination during Carnival 2024, although the total number of travelers has not yet been counted.

According to the Saber market evaluation platform, there may be a 36 percent increase in incoming flights to Trinidad and Tobago and a 30 percent higher in seat capacity during January to February 2024, compared to 2023. .
