Venezuelan FM rejected Canadian Government’s statements

Caracas, Feb 14 (Prensa Latina) Venezuela's Foreign Affairs Minister, Yván Gil, today rejected statements made by the Government of Canada through its embassy in Caracas.

In a post on his X account, the top diplomat pointed out that ‘trapped in its superiority complex, believing itself to be an empire and from its moral misery’, the Canadian Executive insists on attacking Venezuela.

“Get your noses out of our Homeland!’, he said.

He affirmed that incapable of condemning the real violations of Human Rights in the world, such as the genocide in Gaza, and with a shameful record in its own territory, ‘shows how despicable and lying it can be to play into the hands of terrorists and destabilizers’.

In a message released on the same social network, the diplomatic headquarters of the northern country expressed that Canada ‘adds its voice to those who express concern about the detention of Rocio San Miguel and other human rights defenders in Venezuela’.

We demand the full implementation of the Barbados Agreement, it demanded.

The Venezuelan Public Prosecutor’s Office informed yesterday in a press release that San Miguel and five other citizens, after preliminary investigations, are allegedly involved in the conspiratorial plot known as the White Bracelet.

This operation with the participation of the Central Intelligence Agency and the Drug Enforcement Administration, both U.S., and the Colombian Army intelligence, was aimed at making an attempt against the life of President Maduro and other high officials.

Attorney General Tarek William Saab informed that Alejandro José Gonzales De Canales Plaza was requested to be remanded in custody for the alleged commission of crimes associated to the disclosure of political and military secrets, related to the security of the nation, obstruction to the administration of justice and association.

The Prosecutor’s Office requested precautionary measures to four other citizens, consisting of periodic appearances before the court of the case, among others.

Saab denounced the day before a fierce campaign waged from abroad against the justice system and the State of the Bolivarian Republic.
