After meeting here with his Caribbean counterpart Bruno Rodriguez, Lavrov demanded the removal of Cuba from the unilateral States Sponsor of Terrorism (SST) list, as he considered it as absurd.

In his meeting with Rodriguez, Lavrov noted his country’s interest in promoting ties with integration organizations including the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America and CARICOM.

He also emphasized that, in bilateral meetings, held several times in the same year, there is a coordination of positions on aspects of the international arena, with concrete results.

Likewise, in today´s talks, there was agreement on aspects such as the need for a more democratic world order, he stressed.

Lavrov said that he invited the Cuban foreign minister to visit Russia this year and referred to the significance of creating a solid legal basis with bilateral agreements and the work of the intergovernmental commission for economic-commercial and scientific-technical cooperation.
