Russia shoots down six Ukrainian drones over Belgorod and Black Sea

Moscow, Feb 25 (Prensa Latina) The anti-aircraft defense on Sunday shot down two Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles over the province of Belgorod and four more such devices in the Black Sea, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.

“This Sunday, an attempt by the Ukrainian military to carry out a terrorist attack with unmanned aerial vehicles on targets on Russian territory was thwarted. Service air defense systems intercepted and destroyed drones over Belgorod and in the Black Sea,” the statement indicated.

News of Ukrainian drone attacks on facilities on Russian territory, both in areas close to the front line and on the outskirts of Moscow, has been arriving almost daily lately.

The Russian provinces bordering Ukraine, such as Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk and Voronezh, regularly report shell hits, drone incursions and other attacks from across the border, forcing the population to seek refuge elsewhere.

Since February 24, 2022, Russia has been carrying out a special military operation in Ukraine whose objectives, according to Russian President Vladimir Putin, are to protect the population from “a genocide by the current authorities in Kiev.

The national security risks represented by the advance of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) towards the east are pursued and tackled.
