The local Foreign Ministry launched a campaign to join this body based on the intention of strengthening the United Nations Charter and consolidating multilateralism as a tool for solving the most pressing problems and challenges of the 21st century.

At the forum, Tewaney presented the progress made by the region in this area and highlighted the fundamental role played by Panama in this transformation process, according to the official report.

The head of the Panamanian diplomacy also met with the deputy foreign ministers of Venezuela, Coromoto Godoy, and Colombia, Francisco Coy, with whom she also discussed migration issues.

Ciudad de Panamá, 3 mar (Prensa Latina) La canciller panameña, Janaina Tewaney, participa en el Foro Diplomático en Antalya, Türkiye, que concluye hoy, con la mira puesta en recabar apoyo para obtener un puesto en el Consejo de Seguridad de Naciones Unidas.

Según informes del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores del istmo, con esa propuesta la diplomática sostuvo reuniones bilaterales con sus pares de Gambia, Mamadou Tangara; y de Azerbaiyán, Jeyhun Bayramov.

La cancillería local lanzó una campaña para integrar esa instancia fundamentada en la intención de fortalecer la Carta de la Naciones Unidas, y afianzar el multilateralismo como herramienta para resolver los problemas y desafíos más apremiantes del siglo XXI.

En el foro, Tewaney presentó los avances de la región en la materia y destacó el papel fundamental que desempeña el país canalero en este proceso de transformación, según el informe oficial.

También la jefa de la diplomacia istmeña se reunió con los vicecancilleres de Venezuela, Coromoto Godoy; y de Colombia, Francisco Coy, con quienes abordó además temas migratorios. oda/ga
