Red Cross denounces “Israel’s out of its senses”

Ramallah, Mar 10 (Prensa Latina) The Red Cross International Committee denounced on Sunday that Israel is out of its senses by waging the brutal war against Gazans.

Five months have passed by since the onset of the escalating conflict, and Palestinians’ situation “is deteriorating every hour, and there is no safe place to go,” the agency stated in a dispatch.

The Red Cross warned that Israel, as the occupying power, must ensure the basic needs of the Gazan population or allow the safe and unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid. However, it pointed out that a large and regular flow of vital goods is only part of the solution.

In that regard, the health agency urged the warring sides to launch their military operations in a way to avoid harming the civilian population and respect international law.

“This is the dividing line between humanity and barbarism,” the Red Cross statement stressed.

According to official figures, over 30,000 Palestinians have been slaughtered, and 72,000 injured, mostly civilians, since the outbreak of the new cycle of violence on October 7, 2023.

In recent weeks, several countries, the UN, and numerous NGOs have warned of the danger of a generalized famine in the Gaza Strip, where there are still residing 2.3 million people.
