Jamaica plans to receive 50,000 European tourists by 2025

Kingston, Mar 12 (Prensa Latina) Jamaica is working to receive 50,000 visitors from Europe next year, approximately 25 percent more than previous estimates, Minister of Tourism Edmund Bartlett said.

According to a press release, the increase in travelers from that geographic area, which represents its fourth largest market and includes countries like Spain, Germany and France, is based on recovery figures after the Covid-19 pandemic and growth prospects for each region.

The statistics we are receiving show that demand for the destination remains strong, there is room to increase our numbers by up to 25 percent and, combined, we will reach this unprecedented figure, Bartlett said at the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) in Berlin, Germany.

He noted that the ambitious target will require further discussions with Jamaica, including airlines, tour operators and travel agents, to create more seating capacity, as well as strong marketing and promotional activities to drive demand.
