Broad Front ready for elections in Uruguay

Montevideo, Mar 17 (Prensa Latina) The Broad Front (FA) of Uruguay has today ready the government program 2025-2030 for the next elections which, according to its president Fernando Pereira, aspires to a society that builds wealth and distributes it.

The programmatic bases received the approval of the National Plenary of the leftist alliance and demanded the participation of more than a thousand Uruguayans from different areas, including science, academia, culture, sports and the militancy itself.

Attention to poverty, childhood, employment, sustainability, development and environment stand out as priority in the FA political program.

Pereira pointed out that the issue of public safety is “probably what most concerns Uruguayans”.

Today it is said that Uruguay is a place where drugs are stockpiled for subsequent export, which is an issue “from which we should not seek electoral gain from, but the broadest consensus of society,” he said.

The politician indicated that the Plenary dealt with the verdict of the Political Conduct Tribunal on deputy Gustavo Olmos, denounced by the alternate of the seat Martina Casás for sexual and labor harassment. It also ruled on 12 other cases.

Nothing was left under the carpet, nobody can tell us that a denunciation that was formulated in the Frente Amplio, neither the president nor any of its bodies put it in the back burner, in all the cases there was a decision, he remarked.

He said that first the resolution will be communicated to those involved and then public statements will be made, if the case warrants it.
