Russia: the US position on the attack in Moscow is biased

Moscow, Mar 27 (Prensa Latina) Russia considers that the United States' position on the perpetrators of the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall concert hall is biased, said Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

“Their bias and involvement in the story is evident. If that wasn’t the case, their first statements would have been what they should have done, that is, about the need to carry out an investigation and present data,” the diplomat commented to the Sputnik news agency.

Following the attack, White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby stated that there is no indication of the involvement of Ukraine or Ukrainian citizens in the events.

The spokeswoman stated that the United States “exposed itself” since it did not call for an investigation into the attack, but began to affirm that Ukraine had nothing to do with it.

On March 22nd, a group of armed men broke into the Crocus City Hall in Moscow province and opened fire on a crowd gathered for a rock concert. The shooting was followed by a fire, which, according to the Ministry of Emergencies, affected an area of almost 13 thousand square meters.

The president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, acknowledged this Monday that the attack was the work of radical Islamists, but assumed that it may be a link in a chain of operations that have been carried out against Russia since 2014 “with the hands of the neo-Nazi government of Kiev”.

According to the Federal Security Service, after the attack, the terrorists tried to flee towards the border between Russia and Ukraine before being stopped by law enforcement. However, the Ukrainian government flatly denied its involvement in this incident.

Many world leaders stood in solidarity with the Russian people and condemned the attack in the strongest terms.
