‘On the occasion of the first visit of a Russian ship to Eritrea in modern history, a welcoming ceremony, took place at the pier in which representatives of the local administration and the African country’s Naval Forces participated,’ the note said.

The visit will be extended for several days so that the Russian marines will have time to take part in cultural events, see local tourist sites, and take part in sports tournaments together with Eritrean sailors, the military agency’s note said.
