Cuban ambassador and Sri Lankan politician tackle down on US blockade

Colombo, Mar 30 (Prensa Latina) The U.S. blockade and the smaear campaing against Cuba were major issues in a meeting held on Saturday between Cuban Ambassador Andres Gonzalez and Sri Lankan communist leader Wilfred Jayasinghe.

The secretary of International Relations of the Communist Party of Sri Lanka and member of the Central Committee received an update from the Cuban diplomat on the effects caused by the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by Washington on Cuba for over 60 years.

Jayasinghe, who is also active member of the Sri Lanka-Cuba Friendship Association, learned about the active campaigns to slander the Cuban Revolution, its leaders and the governmental measures for the social development and to confront Washington’s economic war.

In the fraternal meeting held in Colombo, Ambassador Andres Gonzalez reaffirmed Cuba’s position to continue defending the principles and achievements obtained since the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution on January 1, 1959.
