Israel strikes UN peace patrol in southern Lebanon

Beirut, Mar 30 (Prensa Latina) The Israeli army attacked today a patrol of international observers of the United Nations Interim Force (Unifil) in Wadi Qatamoun, on the outskirts of Rmeish, on the southern border of Lebanon.

According to local reports, an Israeli drone injured Unifil members by striking a commando vehicle during a patrol in the village of Rmeish.

The crew of the international contingent’s car was transferred to Al-Tiri village for treatment after being attacked by the Zionist forces.

According to the pan-Arab Al Mayadeen channel, among those injured in the Israeli attack on the Unifil vehicle is a Lebanese citizen working as a translator.

The international observers injured by Israel are Norwegian, Chilean and Australian nationals.

This week, the peacekeeping mission in Lebanon stressed the need to immediately stop the escalation in southern Lebanon, following persistent Israeli aggression and the response of the Resistance (Hizbulah).
