According to a note from the Syrian presidency, Al-Assad expressed on behalf of the Syrian people his deepest and sincere condolences to the families of the martyrs and the Iranian people.

“The Zionist attack on the headquarters of a diplomatic mission in an area full of civilians is not surprising, since Israel was built on murder, bloodshed, displacement and looting”, the ruler said.

He added that the genocides and massacres that have been committed in Gaza for more than six months constitute proof of the barbarity of the Zionist regime.

As explained by the Syrian authorities, seven military advisors of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and four Syrians lost their lives in the Israeli bombing carried out last Monday against the Iranian consulate building in Damascus.
