On the last session of the 12th Congress of the Young Communist League (UJC), the head of State said that the US aims to hinder the development and welfare of the Cuban people, despite claiming to be in favor of it.

Faced with this panorama, the president emphasized that in order to move forward, Cuba needs to produce and create the wealth that the people need.

“The wealth that we create as a country will be the one we can distribute with social justice, which is the logic of the socialist revolution in our country,” Diaz-Canel stressed.

The president noted that it is necessary to work at all levels of the Communist Party of Cuba and the Government, and to count on the participation of young people in the processes of transformation in Cuba.

He called on the UJC to develop a political movement to incorporate all young Cubans to study and get involved in the struggle for a better future, prosperity and welfare of the Cuban people.

Diaz-Canel also urged to hold youth innovation meetings to address complex issues and systematize the participation of young people in solving the problems of Cuban society.

He stressed the importance for the new generations of becoming familiar with and work on their problems from government pillars, such as social communication, innovation and computerization.

After listening to the delegate’s speeches about strengthening the cadre policy and about the need to increase the communication channels of the UJC, the Cuban leader urged young people to innovate and present their ideas and projects.
