There are no Western countries among Russia’s main trading partners

Moscow, Apr 7 (Prensa Latina) At the end of 2023, the West was no longer among Russia's five most important trading partners, the Federal Customs Service (FTS) reported.

According to the agency, Moscow’s trade with the rest of the planet last year stood at 710.1 billion dollars, with 51 percent of the amount corresponding to Asia, 23 percent to Europe, 11 percent to the Middle East, eight to the post-Soviet space, four to the Americas and three to Africa.

China maintained its status as Russia’s main trading partner in 2023, with a record volume of 240.1 billion, followed by India (64.9 billion), which rose from fifth to second place; Türkiye (56.5 billion); Belarus (55 billion) as fourth; Kazakhstan (26 billion), moving from eighth to fifth place, overtaking Germany. The five countries mentioned represented 60 percent of Russia’s foreign trade in 2023.

South Korea (15 billion), Germany (12.2 billion), the United Arab Emirates (12.1 billion), Brazil (11.3 billion) and the Netherlands (9.9 billion) took the positions ranging between fifth and tenth.

Russia’s main trading partners in the Americas were Brazil, the United States, Mexico, and Ecuador.
