Earthquake of 3.5 degrees shakes three Caribbean countries

Port of Spain, Apr 11 (Prensa Latina) A tremor of 3.5 magnitude on the open Ritcher scale shook the coasts of Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines today, with no material damage reported so far.

The seismological research center of the University of the West Indies stated that the event occurred at 04:55 local time, and the epicenter had a depth of 10 kilometers.

The coastal cities of the three countries mentioned felt the earthquake, and the authorities are asking their populations to provide information on how they experienced that moment.

The evaluation in the impacted areas will also continue during the day to corroborate if there were material damages or people in difficulty as a consequence of the tremor.

The University urged extreme vigilance in these and other territories of the eastern Caribbean, because the earthquake was preceded by another of 3.9 degrees, reported last night near Montserrat.
