United Nations report rejected in Afghanistan

Kabul, Apr 11 (Prensa Latina) The interim Minister of Religious Affairs, Noor Mohammad Saqib, rejected the recent report of the United Nations Organization about the repression of the political opponents of the Islamic Emirate (Taliban government) in Afghanistan. According to the incumbent, the general amnesty decree is being implemented in the country, so the Islamic Emirate has no problem with its political opponents.

The United Nations report claiming that the Taliban in Afghanistan eliminates its political opponents is propaganda, Saqib said during his speech after the start of Eid (end of Ramadan fasting) celebrations.

The minister also cited the previous government’s shortcomings in administrative corruption, border management, fragmentation of Afghanistan, and other issues.

Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Abdul Ghani Baradar stressed the importance of unity among Muslims around the world in his remarks; while acting Prime Minister Mohammad Hassan Akhund called on the country’s citizens abroad to return to the country in his Eid message.

He also urged Afghan investors and traders to cooperate with needy families and disadvantaged people in the current difficult economic conditions facing the nation.
