Cuban Embassy in Venezuela recalled the siege of 22 years ago (+Photos)

Caracas, Apr 12 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Embassy in Venezuela recalled the 22 years of the siege and attack to the diplomatic legation in Caracas, during the coup d'état against Commander Hugo Chávez on April 11, 12, and 13, 2002.

“This constituted a violation of international laws and Human Rights”, the representation of the island wrote in its official account.

It reminded that the diplomatic personnel and their families, “including children, remained without communication, electricity, water and under threat”. The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, pointed out last Monday that during those days the fascists found the opportunity to express themselves publicly.

The diplomatic staff denounced that this fascism was supported by Fedecámaras, the old Confederation of Venezuelan Workers, some military chiefs at the time, and had the support of the United States, who “is always at the forefront of coups d’état”.

The days of April 11, 12, and 13, he said, are days to “go through our history”, to highlight it and work so that these events, which have cost the lives of dozens of people, may never happen again.
