France works on an Israel-Iran de-escalation, President Macron said

Paris, April 14 (Prensa Latina) French President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday claimed his country is currently working on a de-escalation between Israel and Iran, a situation that reached unprecedented levels Saturday night following the retaliatory Iranian attack. “France is working on de-escalation with its partners and calls for restraint,” the French leader posted on X, after Iran attacked Israel with missiles and drones in response to the destruction of its consulate on April 1 in Syria, where several officials passed away including commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

According to Israel, about 300 missiles, including cruise missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles were launched over its territory, stating that it neutralized 99% of them thanks to the UK and US support, while Tehran claims that it met its own objectives.

Like other Western leaders, Macron condemned the Iranian action and attributed it to regional destabilization.

Some analysts stress that Israel´s attack over the Iranian Consulate two weeks ago sought a reaction from the Persian nation to try to ease the international pressure faced by the Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu administration for its crimes committed to the Palestinian people and the recurrent violations of International Law and the International human right.

The UN Security Council (UNSC) will meet on Sunday to analyze the present escalated crisis between Iran and Israel, which could have disastrous consequences for the world economy.
