Cuba thanks Namibian parliament for motion against US blockade

Havana, Apr 16 (Prensa Latina) The President of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba (ANPP), Esteban Lazo, thanked the motion approved on Tuesday by Namibia´s legislature opposing the unjust and hostile U.S. blockade against Cuba.

On X, Esteban Lazo acknowledged this new solidarity and support for the Cuban Revolution.

He claimed this is part of numerous actions historically received from Namibia, and especially from its parliament, against the hostile US policy towards Cuba.

Namibia´s National Assembly unanimously passed this motion calling for the cessation of the inhuman and unjustified economic blokade imposed by the United States as well as the immediate withdrawal of Cuba from the state-sponsors-of-terrorism (SST) list.

This text demands the immediate and unconditional closure of the U.S. base in Guantanamo Bay and reaffirms the unwavering support to the Cuban Revolution.

It also ratifies the long-lasting historical connections, solid friendship and flourishing relations between Namibia and Cuba and recalls the selfless sacrifices and substantial contributions made by Cuban internationalists during the long struggle for national independence. pll/rgh/evm
