Russian artists perform at DPRK festival

Pyongyang, Apr 18 (Prensa Latina) Local media today highlighted the performance of Russian groups and soloists participating in the 23rd April Spring Friendship Arts Festival underway in Pyongyang.

In a review of the event, dedicated to the 112th anniversary of Kim Il Sung’s birth, the state-run ACNC news agency said that apart from quality, the Russian artists showed the desire to strengthen the ties of friendship between the two countries, “which have entered a higher stage thanks to the historic Korea-Russia Summit.

In September last year, during a visit to Russia, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party and head of the State Affairs Committee Kim Jong Un agreed with President Vladimir Putin to strengthen bilateral ties in all fields.

ACNC especially praised the Mikhail Godenko Academic Dance Company of Krasnoyarsk when it danced We Love Pyongyang Night, which reflected the dazzling appearance of the capital of the DPRK.

Also, the Alexandrov Academic Artistic Ensemble of the Russian Army and the Central Artistic Ensemble of the Border Garrison of the Security Service of the Russian Federation, whose songs showed “the patriotic feeling of the Russian people and the will to defend justice, truth and peace”.
