According to the bloc, the aid will contribute to the assistance to the residents of that area and will be distributed by the humanitarian organizations present on the ground.
In the current year, the European Union has already allocated around 193 million Euros in support for the catastrophe in the area and the death of more than 34,000 Palestinians.
The new funding will contribute to food, nutritional and health assistance, access to water, sanitation and housing for the inhabitants of the Strip, where these resources are desperately needed, according to the European Executive in a statement.
Likewise, the EU continues with its reinforcement operations through the so-called humanitarian air bridge and the deployment of more than two thousand tons of basic necessities and food to the site.
Data from the regional mechanism show that, since the worsening of the crisis last October, the bloc has carried out 48 actions of this kind.

Comisión Europea aprobó 68 millones de euros para la Franja de Gaza
Bruselas, 26 abr (Prensa Latina) La Comisión Europea anunció hoy la aprobación de 68 millones de euros adicionales en ayuda humanitaria a la Franja de Gaza frente al deterioro de ese enclave palestino, luego de más de seis meses de operación militar israelí.
De acuerdo con el bloque, la ayuda contribuirá a la asistencia a los residentes de esa zona y será distribuida por los actores humanitarios presentes en el terrero.
En el presente año, la Unión Europea asignó ya alrededor de 193 millones de euros en apoyo ante la catástrofe presente en el lugar y la muerte de más de 34 mil palestinos.
El nuevo financiamiento incidirá en la asistencia alimentaria, nutricional, sanitaria, el acceso al agua, saneamiento y alojamiento de los habitantes de la Franja, donde esos recursos son necesarios de manera desesperada, según refirió el Ejecutivo europeo en un comunicado.
Igualmente, la UE continúa con sus operaciones de refuerzo mediante el denominado puente aéreo humanitario y el despliegue de más de dos mil toneladas de insumos de primera necesidad y alimentos al sitio.
Datos del mecanismo regional refieren que, desde la agudización de la crisis en octubre último, ese bloque realizó 48 acciones de ese tipo.
