Jardines del Rey, perfect setting for FITCuba 2024

Havana, Apr 29 (Prensa Latina) The 42nd edition of the International Tourism Fair FITCuba 2024 will be held May 1 through 5 in Jardines del Rey, a place preferred by many travelers, especially Russians and Europeans in general, according to authorities.

Reports from the Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR) timely considered that this place has already been the venue of the main travel exchange of this island, in the central-north region (Ciego de Avila), and now it qualifies again.

For this version it is expected the organizers will repeat the Fair’s success, as a business meeting, a showcase of tourist products and as an extremely welcoming destination.

It is a series of keys and islets that even the American novelist Ernest Hemingway immortalized in his posthumous novel Islands in the Gulf.

More than 500 foreigners and their colleagues from Cuban tourism and 80 journalists from several countries interested in reporting not only the Fair, but also showing its surroundings, are already in Jardines del Rey.

This destination is today one of the most attractive recreational centers in Cuba, especially for Canadians, British and Argentinians, thanks to its natural characteristics and its infrastructure and services adequate that meet the demands of the world recreational market.

That name, Jardines del Rey (King’s Gardens), which has become a brand name, groups several keys with tourist potential in the Sabana-Camagüey archipelago, and that name was given by the Spanish explorer Diego Velázquez, who between 1513 and 1514 wanted to pay tribute to King Fernando the Catholic.

Therefore, that name was the official denomination of those places until the beginning of the 20th century.

An abandoned place, once frequented only by charcoal makers and fishermen with temporary settlements, it became the ideal place for a perfect vacation and now hosts FITCuba 2024.
